Famous singer Rahat Fateh ali khan hit headlines for allegedly keeping foreign money which is a clear violation of FEMA.
Rahat,37and his entire troupe, numbering around 16, including his manager Maroof and event manager were detained and their interrogation were underway several hours after they were held by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials.Pak govt. helped him and he was released after paying a fine of rs. 15 lac only ,which could have been up to rs 640 million.During interrogation he said that he had education only up to class five and he did not know Indian rules about foreign currency.
